Painter & Decorator

Dounemount Care Home is looking to recruit a Painter & Decorator. (Bank contract)

Dounemount Care Home is a spacious, traditional house situated on the outskirts of Macduff, a fishing village in the town of Banff and Buchan area of Aberdeenshire. Spread across three floors with a purpose-built extension on one level, Dounemount offers excellent standards of residential, dementia (including for residents with Alzheimer’s), nursing and respite care.

You will carry out the skilled work within our care home to a high standard. This will include all preparation work, all types of paining and redecoration, ie. Papering, painting, and finishes.

Painter & Decorator Contract
- £12 per hour
- Bank hours
- Onsite parking

Duties
- Evaluating the size of the area to be painted
- Erecting or installing scaffold towers, work platforms and stepladders and other support structures
- Preparing work areas and protecting surfaces not requiring painting with covers or sheets
- Preparing areas to be painted - e.g. removing old paint, levelling surfaces, filling in cracks and holes etc.
- Painting interior and exterior walls using brushes, rollers, and other tools
- Executing artistic decorations, effects, and patterns etc.
- Inspecting painted surfaces and rectifying any flaws or defects
- Removing tools and supports and cleaning work areas

Qualifications & Experience
- SVQ Painting and Decorating
- Consistent and successful working history
- Able to work independently
- Good communicator
- Experience working in care homes or large units would be beneficial
