Chief Executive

Rainham, United Kingdom NELFT NHS Foundation Trust Full time

We are seeking an exceptional Chief Executive to lead us forward in this next phase of our transformational journey.

Working alongside the Joint Chair, the Chief Executive will relentlessly focus on the needs of our communities and promote a vision for the Trust and wider systems which is clear, inspiring, delivers a sustainable future and puts patients and service users at the heart of service delivery. Collaboration and productive partnerships are critical to our future success, so the Chief Executive will engage with diverse partners to develop strategies and plans that ensure improved outcomes and equity of access to mental and community health services across our geographies.

We want to ensure our organisation is accessible to patients, communities, staff and partners and, therefore, the postholder will be responsible for fostering an environment of transparency and active community engagement at board level. We deliver our services with pride in an area with significant social and economic deprivation, and we work hard to address those factors that have historically adversely impacted those we serve. To achieve this goal, our Chief Executive will need to continuously strive to improve the wellbeing of our staff, and create an organisation where people want to work, feel valued, included and empowered.

We are an ambitious organisation and need an experienced executive director who shares our ambition. You will live our values and be authentic, collaborative, emotionally intelligent and have a passion for social justice. You will have significant experience of championing patient leadership and having developed people participation as a key strand within an organisation, and demonstrable success of leading across and within systems to improve population health. You will have a track record of driving board effectiveness underpinned by evidence-based decision making, and creating a board environment that feels accessible to patients, communities, staff and partners. Importantly, too, you will have demonstrable experience of nurturing a just and compassionate culture for staff through setting the right tone at the top, championing diversity and inclusion and one in which staff feel empowered to question, to innovate and have equity of access.
