Purchasing Assistant / Procurement Administrator with previous purchasing experience who works to a high level of accuracy and is highly organised with excellent administrative, communication and time-management skills is required for a leading catering and hospitality equipment supplier based in Royston, Hertfordshire.

**SALARY**: £24,000 - £30,000 per annum (depending on experience) + Bonus + Benefits (See Below)

**LOCATION**: Royston, Hertfordshire

The site is based in the heart of Royston, 3 minutes walk from the train station and 5 minutes walk from the main high street. Alternatively, there is on-site parking and the site is within easy access to Stevenage and Cambridgeshire

JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Purchasing Assistant / Procurement Administrator with previous purchasing experience who works to a high level of accuracy and is highly organised with excellent administrative, communication and time-management skills.

Working as the Purchasing Assistant / Procurement Administrator you will join an exciting and fast modernising business supporting the team with raising purchase orders, liaising with suppliers, sales, customer services and logistics teams.

As the Purchasing Assistant / Procurement Administrator you will also identify potential savings for the business and work with suppliers to ensure delivery deadlines are met.

DUTIES

Your duties as the Purchasing Assistant / Procurement Administrator include:
Planning, maintaining and raising of purchase orders with suppliers working with their deadlines

Working closely with sales and customer services teams to understand and formulate stock requirements

Working with the logistics team to monitor, report and control stock levels to optimum levels

Contributing to continuous improvement of purchasing processes and maximising stock turns

Assisting with the managing of working relationships with suppliers

Identifying potential areas for savings in supplier terms and conditions, whilst ensuring that all suppliers adhere to these

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

Previous experience of a purchasing role

An excellent understanding of good service

Strong organisational and communication skills

Be highly organised, numerate and accurate

Understand Sage 200 or an alternative ERP / accounting system, and Microsoft Office, MS Excel, Word & Outlook

Experience in negotiating and working with suppliers and SLA’s

TRAINING PROVIDED

An understanding of the types of customers the company deal with

Finance processes and appropriate systems

Ad-hoc external qualifications and training schemes
