The post holder will contribute to an ecumenical and multi-faith/belief team providing spiritual, pastoral, and religious care for patients, relatives and staff in Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust and other areas or Trusts that might be covered by service level agreements.
The post holder will work with the HUTH Head of Chaplaincy, the NLaG Senior Site Chaplain, the team of Chaplains and volunteers in facilitating the provision of care.
Access to own transport or ability to fulfil the requirements to attend to requests to see a Chaplain within 1 hour, in the daytime and at night.
Our highly valued Bank Chaplains play a key role in the Chaplaincy team by augmenting the team from time to time. The role is primarily focussed on the provision of high quality pastoral and spiritual care (including religious care when requested) to patients, their families and carers.
Opportunities arise to support the Chaplaincy team at different times, and for a variety of reasons. Typically, however, successful applicants may be invited to offer a minimum of 3.5 hours (1 session) between 09:00 and 16:00 from time to time, according to the needs of the service, on any day of the week, including occasional weekends.
Bank Chaplains may also be asked to be available for short periods if the Chaplaincy team require temporary additional capacity during the course of a Major Incident. Some Bank Chaplains currently participate in the 24-hour on-call rota from time to time.
