Position: Appeals Administrator (20 hours per week)

Location: Ards Office

**Salary**: £24,925 per annum (pro rata)

Reporting to: CAAND Manager

**JOB DESCRIPTION AND PERSONAL SPECIFICATION**

**Role Purpose**:
To provide administration support to our appeals team, which comprises of three staff and three volunteer advocates.

**Main duties and responsibilities include**:

- To liaise with clients with regards to their appeal case
- Liaise with relevant authorities, when necessary, especially The Appeals Service (NI)
- Maintain online electronic appointment and hearing diaries for appeal advocates.
- Answer the telephone when clients phone with appeal issues.
- Provide administrative support to appeal staff and volunteers.
- Record incoming and outgoing mail and distribute to relevant staff.
- Maintain confidentiality about clients and their contact with CAAND.
- Create, maintain and archive paper and electronic filing systems in accordance with the CAAND systems and procedures.
- Maintain all files in Office strong room, ensuring all paperwork is filed and recorded correctly.
- Case record client contacts on Advice Pro and update decision records accurately, including carrying out income generation calculations.
- Provide written monthly reports to the CAAND manager of cases listed, cases heard, new cases received and details of outcomes.

**Personal Specification.**

**Essential**
- Experience of working in an administration role
- Friendliness and approachability.
- Ability to maintain and manage electronic diary systems.
- Excellent verbal communication skills including telephone skills.
- Good numeracy and literacy skills.
- Ability to access relevant signposting information including electronic and written materials.
- Ability to implement administrative policies and procedures in a busy work environment.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Awareness of the potential needs of, and demands placed on, vulnerable clients.
- Ability to manage time and prioritise workload.
- Willingness to attend relevant training and team meetings.

**Desirable**

Previous experience of working within the advice sector

Experience of GDPR requirements

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 20 per week

**Salary**: £13,473.00 per year
