Housekeeper | Tees Valley Hospital

20 hours Permanent Position | Evenings & Weekends

Tees Valley Hospital is in the grounds of Acklam Hall in Middlesbrough and opened in February 2018. The hospital delivers a range of specialties including endoscopy, orthopaedics, general surgery, plastic surgery, urology, gynaecology, dermatology to both NHS and self funding and insured patients.

Reporting to the Housekeeping Supervisor an opportunity has arisen for a Housekeeper to join our team to provide general housekeeping services to all departments within Tees Valley Hospital. You will need to be flexible and happy to undertake evening and weekend work.

We are looking for enthusiastic, self-motivated team players to provide a high standard of housekeeping and cleanliness throughout the hospital, as part of the support services team. Previous experience of housekeeping in a healthcare environment would be preferred but full training will be provided.

Applicants should be flexible in their approach to work and prepared for evening shifts and late finishes until 9.00pm, therefore own transport would be beneficial.

Key responsibilities will include:

- Responsible for ensuring that standards of cleanliness are maintained and able to follow hospital/company protocols
- React to requests of additional cleaning, where required to ensure that standards are met in line with Infection Control, Safety and COSHH
- A willingness to work positively with a team to achieve team goals and excellence in service delivery
- Effective communication skills, proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required
- Able to lift and carry in accordance with Manual Handling techniques and Health & Safety regulations
- High degree of attention to detail
