The Role

As one of our dementia leads you will be delivering inspiring, in-depth, evidence-based, bespoke training and support to teams across our homes. Throughout you will be aiming to drive culture change, empowering people to provide care that enables people living in Orchard Care Homes to thrive and live life to the full. Our recently launched Dementia Promise is striving to reframe how care is provided in care homes for people living with dementia. As one of our team, you will be part of this exciting journey.

The training content has been developed in house and is a sector leading in its breadth of content and overarching, transformative approach. You will be delivering this training but more than that, you will have knowledge and experience which enables you to bring the theory to life and support teams with specific scenarios they raise.

The role will initially be focused on training delivery but has scope for expansion into broader support in practice implementation, quality review of practice and data analysis.

About You

We are looking for someone who can connect with others easily in order that you are able to drive our Dementia Promise forward. You will have experience in dementia care with in care homes, understanding of where improvements are needed and genuine passion to advocate for people.

You will have knowledge of evidence-based approaches to dementia care, research, legislation, medication alongside how dementia impacts not only people living with the condition, but also their loved ones.

Qualifications in training delivery / teaching / mentoring and dementia care are preferred. You will need to be able to manage training delivery planning with flexibility at times and prepared to travel across all regions within Orchard.
