Menopause Cns

Southampton, United Kingdom University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust Full time

Nationally the challenges that women experience suffering with symptoms of the menopause have been highlighted to a political level. Healthcare providers have been asked to respond to this national initiative and therefore, both in primary care and acute Trusts, the development of menopause services are being implemented and evolved. UHS is responding by developing a menopause CNS service to support and complement the gynae consultant with specialist knowledge. The CNS will develop support hubs and mechanisms to patients and staff, and primary care, to provide education and improve access to patients suffering with symptoms of the menopause. Our service has a high proportion of young women with premature ovarian insufficiency due to cancer treatment. The CNS will take on an active role in the ongoing care of these patients. Non-medical prescriber competence is advantageous.
