School Educational Site Lead

To work closely with the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team on strategic direction and accountability of the school, and to be the operational lead at the designated school site.

The post holder will play a key lead role in the development of pupil progress as the school in line with the school being an innovative and emotionally intelligent organisation, and effectively raise standards in all areas of school life.

The post holder will play a key role in ensuring both the effective and efficient operation of the day-to-day business. In addition to carrying out the professional duties of a Site Lead, in accordance with the safeguarding of children, the post holder shall, in consultation with the Headteacher play the following part:
**Development**
- Develop and maintain School policies and practices which promote positive achievement and inclusion through effective teaching and learning across the school
- Play a key role in creating an environment within the school where pupils and staff develop and maintain positive attitudes towards each other, the environment, the community and teaching and learning and where the distinctiveness and effectiveness of being a Community School is evident
- Liaise effectively with all stakeholders including parents, Governors, external agencies, business and community partners and the wider community as appropriate.
**Leading and Managing Staff**
- Line manage designated teaching areas/support staff working collaboratively to raise pupil achievement and attainment and to provide effective support, guidance, challenge and information for all staff including NQT and ITT colleagues within designated areas of responsibilities
- Take an active role as the Leader of the Schools Appraisal policy in addition to promoting and providing Continuous Professional Development opportunities to ensure the professional effectiveness of teaching and support staff colleagues and maintaining clear expectations, high standards of professionalism and collaboration
- Support the creation and implementation of the SEF and School Improvement Plan (SIP), and to take sole responsibility for appropriately delegated aspects of it
- Effectively support and challenge all staff in achieving the priorities and targets which the school sets for itself
- Ensure that parents/carers/professionals are well informed about the school curriculum, its targets, pupils’ attainment/progress, and their part in the process of improvement
- Support the Headteacher in the appointment, deployment, and development of staff to make most effective use of their skills, expertise and experience and to ensure that all staff have a clear understanding of their roles and responsibilities
- Manage the school site effectively
- Have a highly visible presence in the school to support the maintenance of a positive school ethos and positive behaviour
- Be responsible for leading teams of adults, and their morale management
- Support the vision, ethos and policies of the school and promote high levels of achievement
**Efficient and Effective Deployment of Staff and Resources**
- Sustain an effective and stimulating and inclusive learning environment and deploy accommodation to effectively meet the teaching and learning /pupil needs across the School using appropriate resources, in consultation with SLT, for effective, efficient and safe teaching and learning across the School; accommodation, agreed budgets, staff, time, courses, development opportunities, ICT equipment
**Other responsibilities**
- Act at all times as an ambassador for the School in a manner which upholds its values and ethos and to model behaviour consistent with the School‘s standards and aspirations
- Take an active lead role in the School‘s pastoral care of pupils and fulfil a pastoral and mentoring role
- Complete Designated Safeguarding Lead Level 3 training and be a DDSL for the site responsible for
- Foster good relationships with parents/carers and the wider community
- Demonstrate a firm commitment to personal professional development
- Carry out such other duties as may reasonably be assigned by the Headteacher
- Recognise that duties of a post may vary from time to time without changing the general character of the post or level of responsibility entailed
**General Responsibilities;**
- Act as a “critical friend” and provide effective professional challenge and support to the Headteacher and other SLT members
- Provide information and advice to the Headteacher and governing body and support proper accountability processes throughout the school
- Take on specific tasks related to the day-to-day administration and organisation of the school
- To model the behaviours of a leading professional in challenging under performance in all its guises
