**Quality Engineer - Flaxby, Knaresborough - £40,000 + Benefits**

This position is full-time and permanent. You will be covering 37.5 hours a week (Monday-Friday) between the hours of 8:30AM - 5PM. Travel is a key element to this role, car allowance comes as an added benefit.
**General Responsibilities**:
- Support and work alongside the Quality Engineering Manager to deliver product quality improvement strategy
- Support the introduction and management of supplier quality
- Work together with the quality inspection team to define suitable inspection checks, ensuring high standards of work are consistently met
- Organise, undertake, and evaluate quality trials
- Be responsible for the investigation of quality issues, whilst identifying root causes of issues and development of corrective actions
- Act with authority holding the business accountable to quality requirements and verify requirements are being met
- Assure quality readiness through the development cycle of new products, their launch, production process and installation. This will include supporting with the definition Quality Standards and Records
- Build a relationship with project site teams and undertake regular site visits to review issues encountered in the delivery and installation phases
- Mentor and upskill the quality technicians
- Participate in the adoption of Advanced Quality Planning (APQP) techniques, including risk-assessment, Failure Modes, and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Standard work and Process Control Plans (PCP) including inspections
- Use a data-driven approach to develop, plan, and manage continuous improvement activities
- Responsible for cascading Quality improvements and lessons learnt to the relevant stakeholders
- Coach, inspire and engage employees for growth and high performance to produce the highest level of quality
- Support and participate in process improvement activities
- Support the adoption of digital solutions to improve efficiency within the organisation
- Support the achievement and maintenance of external accreditation & certification
- Work closely with warranty providers to ensure continued compliance with our System Manual
**Qualifications required**:
- Engineering or technical degree preferred.
- Presentation skills
- Training skills
- Statistical data analysis
- Additional preferred skills including ISO and auditing experience, knowledge of quality planning tools & methodologies including Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Problem solving skills, Six sigma or statisticalprocess control techniques, capability analysis and lean manufacturing philosophies, project management
- Driving licence
**About you**:
- Background in quality engineering / quality management
- Experience in Manufacturing, Engineering or Construction environment
- Auditing to standards
- Experience within a start-up or rapidly expanding business is an advantage
- Willing to travel for work, 2-days a week minimum but where issues arise, you're responsible and will therefore be required to travel more.
