**The Role**

Using your experience and excellent organisational skills you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the transport provision, Plan haulage in accordance with (EC)561/2006 Driver’s hours rules and The Road Vehicles (Authorisation of Special Types) (General) Order 2003, Ensuring that Plant allocation and haulage is carried out effectively and efficiently, meeting our customer’s needs.

Key responsibilities of this role will include:

- Planning all deliveries and collections and allocating jobs to drivers, ensuring cost efficiencies.
- Adhere to working time directive and EU tachograph rules.
- Liaising with clients, internal and external to co-ordinate smooth deliveries and collections.
- Ensuring that all plant is delivered to site on time and meets health and safety requirements.
- Submitting Movement orders for abnormal loads.
- Assisting where needed the regional resource teams with any planning queries.
- Controlling costs of Sub hauliers.
- Managing transport hire contracts.

You will need to have strong organisational skills and excellent geographical knowledge. You must have a personable manner, be able to remain calm, logical and professional at all times whilst dealing with customers, both internal and external.

You will demonstrate experience in resource management, plant and haulage as well as have a good understanding of the construction and rail industry. Computer literacy in MS Office is essential for this role.
