Do you want to be part of a busy, dynamic Traffic Office working for an established international company in the UK. Can you work under pressure and on your own initiative?

This role of Traffic Planner involves working within established systems and procedures under the direction of the Operations Manager as part of a team. You will possess strong communication skills as you will be running your own allocated team of drivers including route planning, scheduling and supporting to ensure an outstanding service to our customers.

**RESPONSIBILITIES / ACTIVITIES**:
**Operational**
- Operating your own allocated team of drivers and trucks with a focus on vehicle revenue performance.
- Assist in all aspects of customers transport requirements.
- Communicating and supporting the company's transporter drivers.
- Allocating and working with Sub Contractor Transport Suppliers.
- Liaising with the company’s Load Building Allocator on required loads.
- Meeting customer lead time requirements.
- Input of job creation into company software ADVANTAGE.
- Undertake training and development of skills to cover for key staff absence through holiday and sickness.
- Responsibility for on call out of hours contact on Rota system.
- Responding to ever changing priorities depending on current needs.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties as may be required from time to time.

**What we need from you**:

- Experience of working within the Road Haulage and Logistics Industry (highly advantageous)
- Strong levels of communication and negotiating skills.
- Able to interpret forecasts and plan accordingly to cover transport peaks.
- The ability to work autonomously within a team environment.
- A meticulous attention to detail with an enquiring mind ready to identify potential issues.
- Strong geographical knowledge of the UK.
- Good working knowledge of EU driver hours and regulations.
- Problem solving skills together with the ability to adapt plans.
- Self motivation - able to prioritise work and meet deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- A Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) or the desire to work towards one which we will support.
