**_Join Police Digital Service as a PDS Security Analyst_**

The PDS Security Analyst is a key role in the Police Digital Service (PDS) Cyber Services Team, supporting the PDS Information Security Manager to protect the PDS estate. The PDS Security Analyst will:

- Provide analysis, support and guidance to PDS Information Security Manager on cyber events, incidents and risks
- Develop, implement and maintain the PDS Data Loss Prevention Strategy
- Support management of PDS IDAM strategy and operational procedures
- Work with partners supplying security services to ensure compliance with PDS Security Policy and contractual deliverables.

This role might suit a technical analyst with an interest in cyber security or looking for a more specialist cyber role. We can provide access to training, information and support to enable this transition.

**_The Role and Responsibilities _**
- Provide advice and guidance on cyber security related governance, issues and processes to the Information Security Manager
- Support implementation of the PDS Data Loss Prevention (DLP) strategy to achieve the short, medium and long-term objectives, by engaging with business functions, operational management of DLP, investigation and analysis of DLP alerts.
- Monitor security, technology, social and scientific trends that could influence PDS’s approach to information security.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of agreed PDS Cyber processes, policies and standards and advise on ongoing compliance
- Forge strong relationships with key PDS stakeholders, enabling effective implementation of Data Loss Prevention capabilities
- Help identify cyber risks and advise on appropriate controls and mitigations, ensuring they are up to date, relevant, aligned to standards/guidance and meaningful to the business
- Monitor technological, social and scientific trends that could influence PDS Cyber risk and compliance planning and management
- Working with PDS stakeholders and suppliers to ensure that security policy is implemented in relation to Identity and Access Management including joiners/movers/leavers process; regular access reviews and management of high-risk accounts - to ensure theprinciple of least privilege and management of risk of toxic access combinations
- Monitor metrics produced by key technology partners in relation to information security eg patching status, output from security tests, monitoring and reviews
- Review requests for approval of changes impacting on security in relation to technical controls
- Analyse reports from identity sources and review / amend documented procedures
- Ensure the security of information and that company information assets, systems and infrastructure are protected appropriately
- Carry out the role in a responsible, professional and security-aware way.
- **What you need to succeed in the role**_

**Skills & Knowledge**:

- Degree in IT or related discipline or significant relevant experience
- Knowledge and experience in one or more of the following areas: cloud security (security controls, assessments, privacy and regulatory risks, security frameworks - preferably in MS Azure and/or AWS Security Operations, Infrastructure Security, ApplicationSecurity and DevSecOps
- Knowledge of AWS IAM, Azure AD, LDAP
- Good understanding of RBAC or other access control methodologies
- Strong engagement focus and proactive style, that motivates, builds trust and inspires colleagues and other delivery partners to engage with PDS productively
- Good ability to undertake qualitative and quantitative risk analysis in support of business decision making and information risk management
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to produce clear, persuasive written and verbal material which engage and influence colleagues and external stakeholders at all levels
- Good understanding of privacy requirements (including GDPR and DPA 2018)

**Experience**:
Essential
- Experience in the production of or input to process & procedural documentation, supporting the design, implementation and operation of security controls
- Ability to develop strong working relationships with a wide number of stakeholders, particularly in managing expectations across a growing organisation, their suppliers and stakeholder groups
- Strong knowledge and ability to demonstrate the use of the NIST Cyber Security Framework, mapping and translating NIST Cyber Security Controls to other frameworks such as ISO27001 and CIS Top 20 controls, including understanding of the Azure Cloud AdoptionFramework.

Desirable
- Knowledge of Defence, ‘Blue Light’ and/or Government organisation governance
- Knowledge of the use of the NIST Cyber Security Framework, mapping and translating NIST Cyber Security Controls to other frameworks such as ISO27001 and CIS Top 20 controls
