The **Senior Oracle Database Administrator **will be responsible for maintaining systems as defined and ensuring their ongoing performance. The senior database administrator will proactively take ownership of aspects of the RDBMS systems and provide high-level leadership and coaching within the team. Additional responsibilities will include maintenance for multiple products at Accruent and optimization of these database platforms.

**Essential Responsibilities**:

- Proficient in all aspects of Oracle RDBMS, OEM, RMAN, ASM, RAC, Golden Gate, Data Guard Broker (ADG), and Data Guard Observer.
- Manage databases through phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), from development through critical Production systems.
- Manage standards, procedures, and policies for governing database environments.
- Design and implement automation solutions for routine tasks, system reporting, alerts, and notifications using standard tools and custom scripts (Unix Shell/Perl/python).
- Evaluates and recommend new technologies.
- Expert competency in backup and recovery strategies.
- Demonstrates in-deep skill set in relevant DBA areas.
- Proactively reviews team's documentation and makes updates and enhancements.
- Helps others to develop effective time management skills and methods of communication.
- Helps others develop systematic methods to accomplish more in less time.
- Guided classes developed by Principal DBAs.
- Reviews designs of less senior DBAs and provides feedback that contributes to their success.
- Organizes and facilitates technical exchanges based on relevant issues, technologies, or techniques.
- Capable of leading recruiting efforts.
- Excellent troubleshooter and problem solver
- Proactively seeks training opportunities for themselves.
- Ability to adhere to company policies and compliance standards.
- Consistently provides suggestions to businesses, based on knowledge of DB technology, tools, and process flow.
- 24x7 Production support on on-call rotations.

**Knowledge, skills & abilities**:

- A minimum of 7 years of demonstrated ability with Oracle databases in two of the following:

- technical database administration
- code development, tuning, and design
- report development and concepts
- DB Certification in Oracle (or equivalent experience) is preferred.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven self-reliant, self-starter, and capable of educating and motivating others.
- Ability to reason logically and participate in the development of innovative solutions.
- Project and task-oriented with a focus on details.
- Able to work well within a group or individually on projects.
