Head Therapist

**POSITION PURPOSE**

Under the guidance of the Spa Management team, ensure that all operational procedures, codes of conduct and standards of appearance, set down by policies are adhered to by all associates. To create a happy and motivated team and ensure the smooth running of the treatment area at all times. To assist the Spa Management in the recruitment, induction, development and appraisal of all spa therapy associates, ensuring that the service provided maintains high professional standards at all times.

**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**
- To take full management responsibilities within the treatment area to ensure effective day to day running.
- To ensure that all operational and treatment procedures are carried out in the prescribed manner and that the highest standard of service is maintained throughout.
- To ensure that the facility is adequately manned, assisting Reception in co-ordinating the diary ensuring yield management at all times.
- Assist in the recruitment, induction, training, development, appraisal and discipline of all spa therapists whilst setting an example at all times as to what is required from associates, such as timekeeping, attendance and attitude.
- To prepare reports for the Spa Manager for the need for new developments or changes to existing policies or objectives to keep abreast of market developments and new products/services available.
- To be responsible for the administration of goods, requisitioning of stock by therapists, inventories, and cost-effective usage of all department related materials and assets.
- Promote and sell the services of the Spa and maximise the potential of all sales, being aware of the treatments and services offered and any promotions that may be on offer at the time.
- Oversee Press visits, PR and VIP visits. Perform demonstrations and presentations as required.
- Responsible for achieving sales targets as set by the Spa Manager; motivating retail sales within the team, ensuring that all sales are recorded accurately.
- To organise and hold regular staff training sessions ensuring that all staff are competent in all treatment procedures and use of equipment.
- Be an expert on all Brand and Standard Operating Procedures and deliver all Spa services in line with the Brand and SOP standards ensuring Health & Safety policies are adhered to.
- Perform any other duties deemed reasonable by Spa Manager on Duty, to contribute to the workflow of the department.

**CANDIDATE SPECIFICATION**
- Must be eligible to live and work within the UK.
- At least 3 years’ experience performing treatments within a Spa environment is essential.
- Minimum qualification in Beauty Therapy to HND level is essential.
- Must have strong personal management skills.
- Must be willing to adhere to immaculate grooming policy and strict uniform standards.
- Previous experience with ishga is desirable
- Previous Supervisory experience within a similar role is desirable
- Proficient in operating IT and online systems, with experience of Opera and Book 4 Time desirable.
