An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced nurse to join the Integrated Surgical Services group as Bariatric Clinical Nurse Specialist. This is a part time post for 15 hours.

Experience of working with patients on the Bariatric pathway is desirable, surgical experience is essential. The post holder will be required to work with flexibility and will be based at Morriston Hospital but will be required to travel across sites within Swansea Bay UHB.

The Bariatric team is multi-disciplinary, with Consultants, Dieticians, and Psychology and administration staff included. The post holder will be required to be computer literate, to be a critical thinker, self-motivated and enthusiastic, caring and compassionate.

The post holder will be required to attend clinics, support on provision of information to patients verbally and in presentation form, will be required to support patients pre and post operatively and be able to assess and signpost patients, communicating with empathy and compassion whilst encouraging self
- management.

Education and supervision will be provided where an individual is extending role’s, as the level of competence in managing patients increases the post holder will be further integrated into the existing clinical structures to support the multi-disciplinary team creating and sustaining key relationships to meet the needs of the patients. As such the post holder will be required to work within teams whilst being self-motivated.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
