We’re hiring passionate individuals who are ready and eager to kickstart their careers as water managers, scientists or environmentalists. You will play an important role in ensuring water is effectively managed for now and into the future.
Your role will assist in the delivery of high-quality solutions to environmental problems in water resources and sustainability. You will have a choice of meaningful placements:

- Environmental planning,
- Water resources planning,
- Water abstraction, regulation and permitting,
- Hydrology and groundwater,
- Hydrometry and telemetry
- Digital.

The first two years, you will work within local and national teams, rotating around the different functions of water resources and learning new skills from our experts.. We understand the importance of investing in training for our graduates, you will be given extra time for your development each week which will be used to achieve your CIWEM accreditation, through talks, seminars, workshops and project work with other graduates, mentoring and buddying sessions as well as independent learning.
Your work will vary depending on which water resources rotation you are taking part in, which will include activities such as:

- Analysing/assessing the impact of water-related projects,
- Delivering environmental regulation and policy,
- Engaging with stakeholders; water companies and local government,
- Developing and maintaining databases,
- Preparing reports and environmental impact assessments.

Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do, you'll be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents or provide business continuity support during an incident. This may attract an additional payment. Full training and alternative working arrangements will be available to support you with your incident role.

To be eligible for this role you will need to meet ALL the following criteria:

Criteria 1
- You are a UK, Commonwealth or EEA (European Economic Area) national
- You have the right to work in the UK

Criteria 2
- It is desirable to have previous relevant experience via volunteering, summer placement, industry placement or employment.
- Driving Licence
