This is a term time only position.

- Fairfield recognises the role of the Kitchen Supervisor as a key resource in the school.
- The Kitchen Supervisor is responsible to the Headmistress.
- The Kitchen Supervisor is expected to come into school the day before the start of each of our 3 terms to clean the kitchen and prepare for the return of the children.
- The Kitchen Supervisor will support the Facilities Bursar in ensuring that children’s dietary needs are met in accordance with medical needs and parents’ wishes eg; vegetarians, lactose intolerance, allergies etc.
- Some of your duties are listed below, although you should realise that this list is meant to illustrate the type of work you will be expected to undertake and does not represent a definitive description of your role. Duties include:

- Taking delivery of the frozen food trays and transferring them to the freezers correctly
- Preparing the trays, heating up and serving the meal each day
- Ensuring food is at the correct temperature
- Preparing break time fruit for Early Years
- Preparing packed lunches for children going on school trips
- Carrying out and recording H&S checks in the kitchen
- Keeping samples of food for monitoring purposes
- Checking supplies/utensils for the kitchen and keeping the office informed when anything needs replacing/ordering
- Preparing the Hall for lunch and clearing away after service.
- Loading and emptying the dishwasher
- Washing up, clearing away and cleaning the kitchen
- The Kitchen Supervisor is expected to attend relevant and appropriate INSET training.
- The Kitchen Supervisor must have due regard for current Health and Safety practices and must abide by the school’s Health and Safety policy in the kitchen and Hall eg; staff dress code, first aid, food preparation, storage and handling.
