**Your new role**

Based out of Newton Aycliffe, on an initial FTC basis, you will be responsible for the following deliverables:

- Use SAP and other supporting IT systems to ensure the timely and accurate receipt, picking and delivery of materials in advance of required delivery date to Production.
- Identify shortages and expedite materials from our 3rd Party Warehouses in order to meet material requirement dates.
- To conduct accuracy checks to confirm accuracy throughout the material cycle within the business and record against an agreed KPI.
- To root cause material shortages, accuracy discrepancies and material configuration which may impact completion rates in Production.
- To identify material transportation issues and liaise with all stakeholders in order to improve material protection and handling to minimise damages.
- To coach the Team Members as to What Good Looks Like for Material handling and delivery.
- To conduct Cycle counts on all stock and investigate discrepancies with communication to 3PL Warehouse to align all stock holding.
- Be the focal point for all SAP related issues for you designated department.
- Be the first point of contact for Team Members encountering issues that affect daily routines.
- To produce training material, conduct training and measure competency on Team Members.
- To ensure all Standard Operating Procedures are followed and that all routines are conducted in a safe manner by all personnel.
- To be the first point of contact for any Production related non-delivery of materials.
- Raising and completion of any Quality Notifications required where responsibility lies with the Warehouse.
- Support the Section Leaders and run the department in times of their absence.
- Support and coach Team Members to work to agreed KPI’s.
- To attend meetings to support the Warehouse development.
- Control warehouse hygiene.
- Ensure all safety checks are carried out on all machinery that is used on a daily basis by those in your team.
- To raise Near Miss Reports, Conduct accident investigation reports and feedback findings.
- To participate in twice yearly stock takes, most likely to be held on a weekend.
- To be aware of and actively promote and implement Hitachi’s ethos, culture and values.
- To be involved in Hitachi Rail Europe’s staff development and training and participate in PDP procedures.
- To adhere to the Hitachi Rail Europe’s Equal Opportunities Policy.

- To undertake any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as may be required.
**Key Skills & Experience**

**Essential Requirements**

Applicants should be able to demonstrate all of the Essential Requirements listed below:

- Supervisory experience ideally in a warehouse environment utilising KPI’s.
- Have experience with kitting and line feeding.
- A knowledge of Goods Receipting and Picking processes.
- A knowledge of Stock Cycle counts.
- IT skills including a good understanding of SAP and advanced level of Excel.
- Good problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to working as part of a team.
- The ability to work to deadlines.
- Effective communication skills - engages team and peer groups.
**Desirable Requirements**
- A current fork lift and reach truck licence.
- SAP Super User.
- Previous experience with Stock Accuracy and root causing.
- Experience in Warehouse layout management.
- Experience in Material Packaging and Protection.
- Experience with 5s.
- Negotiation and analytical skills.
- Well organised and prides themselves in attention to detail.
- Ability to be assertive to achieve goals.
- Self-motivated.
- An enquiring mind.
