The client; is an established UK based food manufacturer / supplier. The role is a key role in the company's senior leadership team and responsible for the strategic sourcing / category management. Managing managers across a number of categories this is a senior management role and your duties would include;
- Co-ordinate and implement the procurement strategy
- Build and maintain strong working relationships to gain buy
- in and engagement with the key stakeholders
- Challenge, enhance and standardise existing procurement practices across all categories
- Deliver a category approach
- Lead and manage the tendering process for large strategic purchases
- Realise and deliver cost savings, together with a range of additional benefits including improved supplier performance, improved quality of service and total cost of ownership, along with risk management
- Manage department spend and budgets
- Occasional travel to visit key suppliers
- Significant experience of operating at a senior level, with interaction at a board/SLT level
- Background in procurement strategy
- Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to lead key negotiations at a senior level
- Food Buying/ category management experience gained across a variety of foodservice, manufacturing and food production categories - ideal (not essential)
- CIPS qualification or relevant industry experience
- Experience in managing complex supplier and organisational relationships
- Staff Management experience (managing managers)
- Ability to build relationships /influence decision makers

Our client offers an agile working pattern (50% office/ 50% working from home). The client also offers a varied role, in great working environment, coupled with a good bonus and benefits package (including car allowance).

**Job Type**: Permanent

**Salary**: £80,000.00-£95,000.00 per year
