**Payroll Assistant - Shoreditch Bar Group**

Role Summary:
The role of Payroll Assistant would be reporting to the PayrollManager and working in a small team. The Payroll Assistant position will be helping to weekly.

This is a really great role for someone looking to build and progress their career within payroll, previous experience of dealing with clients or multiple payrolls would be highly advantageous. Previous experience working with Sage 50 payroll is a highly desirable.

Key responsibilities:

- Preparing the payroll and associated duties including HMRC PAYE and Pension.
- Reconciling and checking hours worked by employee against Clocking system.
- Maintains payroll processing system and records by gathering, calculating, and inputting data
- Process starters, leavers, SSP, SMP, Pension, amendments and salary calculations, transfers, NI and tax administration and deal with payroll queries
- Checking all the paperwork for the new starter.
- Answers staff questions about wages, deductions, attendance, and time records
- Receives and coordinates requests for leave and other absences
- Handles changes in exemptions, job status, and job titles
- Identifies, investigates, and resolves discrepancies in timesheet and payroll records
- Honours confidentiality of employees' pay records
- Completes payroll reports for record-keeping purposes or managerial review
- Liaise with the HR department and accounts department to ensure accurate information for payment
- Sage payroll, Fourth Hospitality (not essential)
- Microsoft office Excel
- Problem solving abilities and logical thinking
- Having good communication skills to be able to deal with any queries
- Having ability to work to strict deadlines
- Excellent attention to detail
- Respecting confidential information

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 40 per week

**Salary**: £28,000.00 per year
