Research Associate

We are seeking to appoint a researcher who is familiar with making and interpreting atmospheric measurements, including operation and analysis of a Tofwerk/Aerodyne mass spectrometer to support our wide range of upcoming projects. We are looking for a researcher with CIMS/PTR experience who is keen to play a role in further characterising the new instruments, including the new airborne deployable CIMS to push their capability and play a leading role in one or more key areas of science.
The successful applicant will be expected to have experience with operation and calibrations of instruments for the detection of atmospheric trace gases or particles, with CIMS or PTR-MS. They will be expected to be able to take primary responsibility for deployment of the CIMS and/or PTR instruments in laboratory and field work experiments and the applicant will guide the data analysis and play an integral role in its interpretation.
The post holder will be expected to carry out independent research, work collaboratively with an excellent team of experimental scientists, prepare reports and deliver presentations, liaise with the wider research community and deliver excellent scientific publications.
