We are looking for people who want to develop a career focusing on caring for and improving the welfare of a variety of different animals. As an Animal Husbandry Technician, it is your responsibility to ensure all the husbandry needs of the animals are met and that welfare is always kept to the highest of standards. This is a full time, permanent opportunity for the successful person to kickstart their career.
**Key Duties**:
- Providing food, water and bedding to the animals
- Changing cages and associated equipment
- Assisting in the handling of animals for various procedures
- Performing cleaning duties within the animal rooms and facility
- Preparing equipment and materials for use on studies
- Recording routine study data both manually and using electronic data capture systems
**Role Requirements**:
- Animal Care or Animal Management qualifications at Level 2 or higher are desirable but not essential
- 5 GCSE passes or equivalent qualifications including Maths, English and Science
- The ability to learn and have empathy with the animals; as well as the capability to develop the requisite skills
- Ability to drive is essential due to the remote location
- Previous hands-on experience working with animals
**Job Types**: Full-time, Temporary contract, Temp to perm
**Salary**: £18,800.00-£21,000.00 per year
Schedule:
- 10 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Occold: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
