We are looking for a motivated, flexible and enthusiastic ward clerk to join our friendly team at Stamford Greenwood Day Treatment Unit. You will be the welcoming face of the unit; therefore we are seeking a professional who can demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills with colleagues, patients and relatives alike.

As a Ward Clerk in Stamford DTU, you will need to be passionate about providing patients, staff and visitors with the best possible experience, from answering the office phone to being a point of help to visitors, preparing documentation and administrative duties as required.

You will work within the team to support effective running of the Day Treatment Unit

The post involves dealing with patient packs and documentation, working under pressure to ensure all documentation and requirements are in place, allowing medical and nursing staff to carry out clinical activity.

Being face to face contact with patients and families as they enter our department.

Prepare all patients medical notes and documentation for DTU clinics and outpatient lists.

Ensure all patient records, including referral letters, are available for Day Treatment Appointments.

Contact GP's/GDP's for any missing referrals and information required.

Record and update all patient data and ensure the data is entered and stored on the appropriate system.

Input and update Theatreman with accurate information in the absence of a Theatreman administrator.

Maintain good communication links with other departments.

Deal with telephone and face to face enquiries in a professional and courteous manner.

Work with colleagues and encourage a team approach.

Attend unit meetings.

Undertake other clerical tasks to ensure administrative systems meet the requirements of the department.
