Caretaker

**The School**

Kenilworth Multi Academy Trust has a vacancy for a full time Caretaker. The vacancy is based at Kenilworth School and Sixth Form, across the current Leyes Lane and Rouncil Lane sites.

Kenilworth School and Sixth Form is rated as Outstanding by Ofsted (2013) and as the only secondary school in the community of Kenilworth, is oversubscribed.

We are currently a split site, with Years 7 - 11 based at Leyes Lane and Sixth Form set on our Rouncil Lane site. This is an exciting time to join us as a new school is currently being built in Kenilworth, moving the school onto one site in Glasshouse Lane from September 2023.

The post holder will report to the Estates and Facilities Manager and join a friendly and supportive team of Caretakers.

**The Role**

The Caretaking team work on a daily shift pattern, Monday to Friday 37 hours per week, with hours to be agreed between 7am to 6pm, all year round.

Typical daily duties include:

- Locking and unlocking the school
- Ensuring site is tidy and presentable for site users
- Carry out minor repairs and building maintenance
- Carry out routine fire bell checks, emergency light checks, water run offs and other routine premises tasks
- Meeting contractors on site and co-ordinating their work
- Occasional minibus driving
- General porter duties to include setting up exam tables, assemblies and other school events
- Being a named key holder to respond to alarms outside of school hours

The successful applicant would be required to undertake a mini bus driving MIDAS test.

Full training will be given to the successful applicant.
