**As an apprentice fitter for a plant hire company NI, your main responsibilities may include**:
Assisting with equipment maintenance: You'll be responsible for assisting with the routine maintenance and repair of plant machinery and equipment. This will include tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, and other minor repairs.

Learning about machinery and equipment: You'll need to learn about the different types of plant machinery and equipment that the company hires out, as well as how they work and how to carry out basic maintenance tasks.

Shadowing experienced fitters: You'll be working alongside experienced fitters, and will need to shadow them as they carry out more complex maintenance and repair tasks. This will help you to develop your skills and knowledge.

Cleaning and organising equipment: You'll need to help to keep the equipment clean and organised, and ensure that it's stored correctly when not in use.

Learning about health and safety: You'll need to learn about health and safety regulations and procedures, and ensure that you follow them at all times. You'll also need to ensure that the equipment is being used safely and correctly.

Supporting colleagues: You may be required to assist colleagues in other roles, such as helping out with deliveries or collections of equipment.

Record keeping: You'll need to keep accurate records of equipment maintenance, inspections, and hire agreements.

Overall, as an apprentice fitter for a plant hire company, you'll need to be willing to learn, hardworking, and have good communication skills. You'll also need to have a strong interest in mechanics and engineering, and be willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
