gap personnel Exeter, are recruiting for 2 **Yard Operatives** on a permanent contract for a steel merchants based in Cullompton, Devon.

Reporting directly to the Depot Manager, the Yard Operative will be part of a busy team looking to pick and process customers orders ready for distribution. The yard is a busy environment with their main stock inside their warehouse, although other orders will be sourced from their yard. You will have the opportunity to be provided with full training on their Forklifts and Side Loaders, alongside additional salary enhancements based on performance and attendance.

**As a Yard Operative your duties will include**:

- Helping to pick, process and pack customer orders
- Able to follow direction for safe picking and processing of orders
- Ensure items are all packed safely and securely
- Observing safe systems of working;
- Assisting on local van deliveries
- Ensuring health and safety regulations are met and best practice standards observed.

**About You**:

- No previous experience required
- Driving license (essential)
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Dynamic and proactive
- Able to competently lift and load safely
- First Aid certificate - desirable (includes £300 a year salary enhancement)

**Working Hours & Pay**:

- Monday to Friday, 6am-3pm or 9am-6pm (5pm finish on a Friday)
- £11.65ph starting rate / £24,232 salary equivalent
- £30 a month attendance bonus
- £300 first aid certificate bonus

Due to the site location your own transport is required to gain access to the site.
