Hertfordshire Care Providers Association (HCPA) is a unique award-winning company set up to support adult care providers within Hertfordshire to raise quality standards of care. We are a non-profit member’s association. We support over 550 care organisationsto improve the quality of care they provide across a variety of projects such as staff training and providing information and guidance. We also provide additional services and projects such as a fully funded Recruitment service, Impartial Feedback servicesand the Stop Falls Campaign.
We are now recruiting for a Care Assessor/Tutor to assess qualifications and support good quality training to the Private, Voluntary and Independent Adult Social Care Workforce of Hertfordshire (may include some design and development work). This is an excitingposition for someone to extend their **experience in care**and their **training skills.** We are looking for someone who has a passion and enthusiasm to raise the standard of quality of care, who holds an Assessing qualification with experience of assessing knowledge, skills, and behaviours in the Care sector.

**What does the role of Care Assessor/Tutor involve?**
This is a busy training and education centre with customer care at its focus.
**Specific Responsibilities**:
1. Act as an assessor using OneFile
- assessing knowledge and skills through accredited units/qualifications at differing levels, ensuring qualification specifications are met, whilst maintaining learner records.
2. Manage a 'caseload’ of learners, working closely with employers, to provide encouragement and support at all stages of learning programmes to achieve timely completion.
3. Carrying out observation and other forms of assessment virtually and face to face as required
4. Work with management to understand the needs of learners and create and implement development plans to address both short
- and long-term requirements with a focus on addressing any skills gaps and meeting the needs of our members.
5. Provide appropriate IAG to learners/managers that relate to further training and education opportunities available to meet their business needs or progression.
6. Work collaboratively with the wider Education Team in the development of learning programmes with passion and enthusiasm, maintaining high standards of quality, meeting internal and external expectations.
7. Develop learning plans and conduct progress reviews with relevant SMART action plans, ensuring learners are kept safe and treated fairly and inclusively, adapting support as required.
8. Maintain Continued Professional Development (CPD) and contribute to Standardisation as and when required.
10. Other Quality assurance tasks as required.

- Own transport with business insurance is essential as travel around Hertfordshire is required
- MUST hold assessing qualification
- Experience of assessing/training within a health and social care setting
- Experience in working within a health and social care setting
- Excellent communication and time management skills
