Position Summary
Due an internal move, we have a fantastic opportunity for a Master Blender to join The Famous Grouse and Naked malt team. Reporting to our Global Brand Director, this role represents an excellent opportunity to be part of the global vision, development and delivery of a brand a wonderful history and heritage, and one taking its’ next steps to breakthrough.
Job Description
Key responsibilities of the Master Blender include:

- Delivering whisky quality and consistency for the entire product range of The Famous Grouse brand; ensuring quality on every aspect of whisky blending from new make spirit, casks, maturing stocks through to final vatted products
- Leading on cask management and working closely with the strategy planning team to maintain blend makes ups (BMU) against current maturing stocks, and also on laydown stocks. The Master Blender ultimately signs off the product quality and stock usage
- Leading on managing the relationships with principal spirit suppliers (in-house and third party) ensuring spirt and cask quality are maintained and optimised
- Leading on new product development opportunities for The Famous Grouse in collaboration with the packaging and brand team
- Work with the Finance and Brands team to find ways of maximising the value of our stock holding, for both existing ranges and new product developments
- Embracing Edrington’s sustainability strategy and identifying opportunities to reduce the environmental impact and carbon footprint in creating The Famous Grouse whisky
- Working with fellow Edrington Whisky Makers/Blenders and our partners throughout the business, providing solutions to liquid processing challenges when they occur, and moreover, implementing change to our process’, through route cause analysis, to mitigate future risks
- Working in collaboration with the wider Edrington whisky making team focussing on talent capabilities and succession planning, and coaching trainee whisky makers/blenders as part of this
- Act as the face of The Famous Grouse brand, participating in selective consumer, trade, and media events working closely with The Famous Grouse brand team
- Support Brand education agenda for Naked Malt
