**Purpose of post**

The **Breakfast Club Co-Ordinator** will be responsible for overseeing all issues regarding the children attending the Breakfast Club including over seeing the programme of the morning, resources, snacks, records, attendance, safe gaurding children, fire safety awareness. You will be responsible in co-ordinating a small team of staff in the delivery of a high-quality childcare service before school. You will be expected to report any issues to the **Service Manager**, including reporting to the Management Board when required.

**DutiesDay to Day Management Programme**

To ensure that all children using HASC breakfast club can experience and choose from a wide selection of breakfast foods that are avaialable on a day to day basis, designed and evaluated and put into practice by staff, taking account of national and local guidelines.
To maintain high standards within HASC breakfast club and comply with the Care Inspectorate regulations and requirements and all relevant health and safety practices.
To ensure that HASC’s policies and procedures are implemented. Includingthe Breakfast Club Policy.
To participate in relevant training to fulfil the expectations of the post.
To contribute to the planning and organisation of all aspects of HASC breakfast club.
To plan, implement and take charge of breakfast club staff rotas.
To work in partnership with staff, parents and families, and continue to develop and improve communication systems.
Post includes participation in transitioning children from HASC to school including children who may require additional support.

**Staff Management**

Lead a staff team in the planning and implementation of a quality childcare service.
To encourage teamwork and develop strengths and roles within the team.
To monitor and evaluate staff performance and their impact on the delivery of the service.
To be actively involved in any disciplinary process that may be required.
To provide induction training and continuous coaching to all new staff.
To participate in the recruitment and selection of all new staff.

**Finance**

To manage staff rotas in a cost-effective manner.
To liaise with the HASC Book-keeper and admin assistant.
Making purchases as required.

**Administration of records**

To help maintain accurate records of all children within HASC.
To ensure all children’s medical and allergy records are up to date.
To manage attendance records and liaise with the Service Manager to ensure adequate staff cover.

**Marketing**

To promote HASC within the local community.
To maintain links with other relevant agencies.

**Other**

Attend regular management meetings.
To carry out any other duties appropriate to the post, in line with HASC policies and procedures, requirements of the Manager and of the Care Inspectorate

**Confidentiality**

You will be expected to respect the right to privacy of children, parents and staff within the Club. You will treat all information received in confidence and will not divulge personal or financial information obtained in the course of your work with third parties. You will ensure that the Club complies with the Data Protection Act. You will also ensure that other staff are aware of their duty of confidentiality.

**Person Specification**

**Previous Experience Essential**

Knowledge and understanding of the Health & Social Care Standards and the SSSC codes of Practice.
Knowledge of GIRFEC and SHANARRI.
Organisational and planning skills.

**Desirable**

Childcare experience
Understanding of additional support needs in children

**Education Essential**

Hold SVQ Level3 / SCQF Level 7 Playwork or equivalent.
Hold a childcare qualification to comply with SSSC registration of a Childcare Practitioner in Day Care of Children Service.

**Desirable**

Management qualification and SVQ Level 4 / SCQF Level 9 Playwork or similar.
Must be willing to participate in further training relevant to the post and to meet the requirements of SSSC registration.

**Salary**: From £12.20 per hour
