Our Communications team has a new opportunity for a Communications Officer - Research, based at our national office in Northampton with hybrid working.

At the Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association, we operate a trusting, collaborative, and hybrid working policy which enables the flexibility of splitting your working time between the workplace and your home.

**About the role**
As an innovative Communications Officer, you will be working within our Communications team and closely with our Research team, creating compelling, timely and targeted communications which will update the MND community on the latest advances in treatment development,drug trials and research progress into MND.
A key responsibility within this role will include preparing and delivering engaging and accurate, yet informative internal and external communications in response to research paper publications, trials, trial results, or treatment publicity and any other MNDrelated research news. This role will also require you to monitor industry publications and published news to identify potential stories of interest for our multiple audiences.
With our Communications, Digital and Research teams, you will be working to effectively communicate research findings into engaging, accessible, and audience appropriate content which will promote the trial process, participation, the approval process, andtreatments.
Working collaboratively with our Research team to develop strong relationships with researchers, pharmaceutical companies, trial groups and patient groups, ensuring that the Association is at the forefront of research activity. You will need to report on newsas it happens and maintain a 'media ready' status for active trials, treatments, and research.
As part of the Communications team, you will also need to get involved in wider communication activities including projects, managing press enquiries, and supporting the team during busy periods.
**What are we looking for?**
A dynamic and driven individual who has experience of working in Communications, Public Relations, internal communications, or media.
The ability to think creatively, demonstrating excellent attention to detail and the ability to translate science and research into accessible content for a wider audience is vital.
Building and nurturing internal and external relationships is a key part of this role, excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential. You will need to work collaboratively and be an effective team player with the ability to engage with a widerange of people at all levels.
