Glass Operative

**Location**: Padiham, Lancashire.

**Hours of work**: Various shift patterns available including days, lates and nights.

**Pay Rate**:£10.42 - £11.50 per/hr + 20% Shift Allowance if working lates or nights.

**Main duties of a Glass Operative will include but not limited to**:

- Measure and cut-glass sheets to specific size.
- Modify and smooth sharp edges of sheet glass using sanding tools, and polish.
- Conduct quality checks to identify and mark and defects (fault finding/attention to detail).
- Set up, operate, and control cutting machines and related equipment’s, and monitor throughout.
- Tempering the glass (heating process)
- Modify sheet by hand or with notched tool/pinchers.
- Complete necessary paperwork relating to material handled, i.e. size and type of glass used in process, and maintain records.

**Experience**:
Good strong work history within a manufacturing background would be ideal.

**Skills**:
Willingness and ability to learn new skill, with great work ethic.

Able to work within a team and independently.

Fault finding and excellent eye for detail.
