'The post is for a Psychological Therapist with remit in delivery of Psychological Therapy using CBT approach with Adults with Learning Disabilities'.

Provide a qualified specialist cognitive behavioural service to clients in Learning Disabilities Services, and other sectors of the service as appropriate.

Offer advice and consultation on client’s CBT care to non-psychologists, colleagues and to other non-professional and professional carers who are involved in the client’s care.

Utilise research skills for service related development and to participate in audit, policy and service development and research within the area served by the team/service.

Provide clinical supervision to CBT Therapists, nursing personnel, assistant psychologists, etc. in accordance with clinical specialism and level of expertise.

Hold a relevant professional qualification and post qualification diploma in CBT, which includes academic research and clinical components.

Be qualified/accredited as a CBT therapist with the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapist.

Have obtained a high level of specialist knowledge of severe and/or enduring mental health problems through completion of training courses, including specialist assessment and treatment and through clinical experience as a qualified clinician.

Undertake a minimum of 40 hours of formal and informal continuing professional development activities per annum according to BPS/BABCP guidelines.

Complete further training courses as relevant to the clinical skills required for the post and as identified in the Personal Development Plan.

Complete mandatory staff training as stipulated by NHS Lanarkshire.

Have knowledge of relevant legislation and current clinical standards/guidelines.
