Wood are looking to bring a Commercial Summer Placement into the business who will be provided with an in depth, meaningful experience within a busy Commercial team.
The Commercial functions vision is; realising returns, managing risk, maximising opportunities.
The role of summer placement will give an insight into the opportunity available as a commercial graduate within Wood.
Typical roles will include awareness and engagement under supervision:
- Pre-award awareness - including support to the tender governance process, and proposals team in terms of performing a commercial review of tender documents, reviewing commercial proposals prior to submission for internal approval, preparing commercial qualifications and pricing notes
- Main contract administration awareness, including correspondence management, management of change and the development/implementation of commercial strategies and profit improvement plans in accordance with client contract(s) and Wood’s policies and procedures
- Engagement and support to ongoing initiatives and projects within the EMEA Commercial function - DSO, Cash collection and Margin Protection are a couple of examples
- Undertake a specific project to Co-ordinate and benchmark KPI usage across the BG and our associated achievement
Qualifications:
- Higher level education
- Working towards degree in Business or QS
Knowledge, skills and experience:
- Level of understanding around commercial / finance areas of business
- Good planning and organisational skills
- Effective/competent MS Office Suite User
- High level of communication skills in both written and spoken format
