Legal Secretary

Responsibilities:
- Prepare and draft legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, and contracts
- Organize and maintain legal files and documents, both in physical and electronic formats
- Schedule appointments, meetings, and court hearings for attorneys
- Assist attorneys in managing their calendars and deadlines
- Conduct legal research and gather relevant information for cases
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel
- Proofread and edit legal documents for accuracy and completeness
- File documents with the court system and other relevant agencies
- Handle administrative tasks such as answering phone calls, taking messages, and managing correspondence
Qualifications:
- At least 5 years plus experience as a Legal Secretary in a law firm in conveyancing, wills and probate, and litigation
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification is a plus Typing and audio dictation.
- Be able to case manage a large work load
- Proven experience as a legal secretary in a law firm or similar role in Conveyancing, Litigation office
- Proficient in using legal software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Strong knowledge of legal terminology and procedures
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work under pressure to meet deadlines
- Discretion when handling confidential information
- Strong multitasking abilities
