**Job Summary**:
We are looking for a Senior Buyer with a hands-on attitude to supplier and materials replenishment management. Building strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders across the business; ensuring that the required supplies/services are available to meet the business requirement in a timely manner, that they are supplied by the approved suppliers/service providers and procured in the most cost effective and efficient manner

**Profile and Requirements**:

- Sourcing supplies and placing orders via the business defined methods.
- Contract negotiations of Procurement agreements, service and maintenance agreements.
- Working on specialized projects to enhance performance service levels.
- Working with the stakeholders and support the MRP system development and implementation in order to improve effectiveness and efficiency of inventory management.
- Providing guidance on defining and updating the supply and stock management parameters in the MRP system. Working together with Master Scheduler by taking the relevant actions to initiate stock replenishment in a timely manner and placing orders within the established guidelines
- To liaise with key stakeholders across the Charles River global sites and offer procurement support as and when required
- Support the Global Procurement governance process, Procurement system implementation and improvement initiatives
- Full awareness of risk management and impact to the business
- Awareness and full consideration of the Total Cost of Ownership model.
- Liaise /Support Global Procurement Operations, Category and Process team members on Global Procurement initiatives/projects. Assist in the implementation of a Global Procurement strategy and provide end-to end Procurement Operations using appropriate CRL procurement tools and techniques.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:
**Education**: Degree or recognised purchasing, procurement or supply chain qualification equivalent, CPSM/MCIPS full certification
- **Experience**: Significant experience in a Planning, Purchasing or Materials role within a fast-paced procurement environment- Strong buyer experience with GMP knowledge as well as Good Procurement practices. Previous senior experience within a strategic procurement/sourcing function would be desirable
- Solid understanding of MRP, inventory management, supplier contracts and project management
- Excellent negotiating and influencing skills with a good understanding of stakeholder relationship management. Ability to professionally communicate and present at a senior level
- Attention to detail, analytical skills and problem solving. Using data both current and historical to plan raw material demand. Track record of delivering cost reduction plans. Problem solving skills and hands on approach to resolve issues
- Able to manage multiple assignments/ conflicting priorities and able to work under pressure and report on progress
- Good working knowledge of ERP/MRP with SAP experience is desirable
