Smash Space UK is the only Rage Room facility in the area and has the UK's ONLY Art Launch. A rage room, which also known as a smash room or anger room, is where people can vent their rage by destroying objects within a room. Clients can break items by smashing them with tools such as sledgehammers, tyre levers, frying pans and a crowbar. We also have other activities on site including multiple Escape Rooms, an Art Launch and a Smash Lane coming soon

**Job description**

Smash Space UK is hiring 2 x additional Smash Instructors on zero hour contracts to join the Smash Space Team.

Wage: £9 / hour

The likely hours of work are weekday evenings and weekends and, it is likely that shifts of approximately 4 - 12 hours per week will be available for each employee.

**OUR BUSINESS**

Smash Space UK is a new start-up business located Newcastle City Centre. The business operates the only Rage Room in the North East alongside multiple escape rooms and the UK's ONLY Art Launch. The business has been trading since October 2021 and is growing rapidly. The business is a high energy venture providing a safe environment for people to both vent and have fun doing something new. Safety and customer experience is at the forefront of the business and all staff with have to be considerate of this at all times.

**WHAT THE JOB ENTAILS**
- Responsible for ensuring that customers are aware of the safety instructions and smashing instructions prior to entering the rage room.
- Ensuring the smash materials and tools for smashing are available and ready at the start of every new session.
- Ensuring that the Escape Room is prepared for every session.
- Ensuring that music and emergency alarm are working prior to each session.
- When requested, monitoring the CCTV of the rage rooms to ensure that all rules are being complied with and there are no emergency situations.
- When required, carry out first aid as per the training. (First Aid Training will be provided)
- Ensuring that customers are wearing full body gear, all of the protective equipment required and closed toed shoes before entering into the danger area.
- Responsible for informing the manager of any replacement or worn-out safety items, damaged items (not including those meant to be smashed) or any other accessories that are likely to be needing replaced.
- Clean the premises and the rage rooms as and when required.
- Assist with marketing as and when required.
- Handle any other duties as assigned by the manager.

Essential
- Willing to undertake First Aid Training;
- Be able to work flexible hours when the job requires;
- Ensure customer service is delivered to an excellent standard;
- The capability to carry relatively heavy objects;
- Over 18 years of age; and
- English & Maths GCSE.

Desirable
- Experience in a customer facing role;
- Previous experience of working within a small team;
- Enthusiastic, Energetic and Talkative;
- Great Organisational Skills; and
- Experiencing working with technology (speakers, Spotify, music, etc.)
