**Level 2/3 Nursery Practitioner Key Responsibilities**

**To give support to other personnel within the Day Nursery. To follow and implement the setting child protection safeguarding policies and procedures, contributing to concern identification, recording and working in partnership with all staff includingthe designated person to keep children safe, undertake/be trained to the minimum LSCB safeguarding exceptions as defined in the setting training programme. Safeguard the well -being of all children with our care and ensure you within your room are aware ofyour responsibilities in relations to safeguarding children, as safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility.**

**Under the direction of the Manager, Senior Deputy Manager, to work as a key worker as a full member of the nursery team, providing and developing appropriate learning and daily needs of the children between the ages of 0 to 5 years old within oursetting. To ensure high standards of physical, emotional, social, and intellectual care for children placed in our setting.**
- Ability to work as a team member.
- Good communication skills.
- Commitment to working with parents and the community.
- Able to maintain accurate and comprehensive records.
- Able to work on own initiative with minimum of supervision.
- Computer literate
- Relevant skills for working with groups of children 0-5 years.
- The ability to form and maintain appropriate relationships and personal boundaries with children.
- An ability to carry out light physical duties to include lifting babies and children, housekeeping tasks and setting up resources.
- A positive attitude to use of authority and maintaining discipline
- Able to communicate effectively with adults and children
- Good organisational skills
- Knowledge of child development and how children learn. Trackers, observation
- Know of relevant and current education legislation, including child protection procedures, including understanding the effects of deprivation and abuse.
- An understanding of children’s development and their needs (EYFS)
- An awareness of Health and Hygiene and Safety in workplace.
- An awareness of Equal Opportunities issues
- An awareness of special needs and requirements
- A willingness of self-improve and develop childcare skills.,
- Training will be provided in the form of on-going refresher courses, in house training, e learning courses, as well as foundation course (level4,5 and Early Years Professional (level 7)

An appreciation of customer care skills when dealing with parents.

**Level 2/3 Nursery Practitioner Qualification and Experience required**
- **Significant experience of working with children aged 0 to 5 years old.**:

- You must hold a minimum Level 2/ 3 childcare qualification
