Established in 1998, Simplex Marketing Ltd is an importer, distributor and retailer of lighting products and electrical accessories. Based in Barrowford, the company operates from its 30,000 sq. ft. warehouse and offices located in a former têxtile mill. Simplex is a major supplier to the key manufacturers in the leisure and holiday homes sector.

Simplex also controls the accounting function of its subsidiary company, Lighting for Gardens Limited.

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant to cover for maternity leave until May 2024. Full training will be given on the company’s accounting system. This is a part-time, in-house role.

As the Accounts Assistant, you will develop skills to enable you to support the Finance Manager with the following:

- **Role**:

- Sales ledger work - generating & issuing statements, allocating receipts, basic credit control, dealing with queries
- Purchase ledger work - matching delivery notes to purchase invoices, posting invoices and credit notes, checking supplier statements, dealing with queries
- Recording expenses, petty cash transactions, account reconciliations
- Ad-hoc accounting tasks
- General office administration tasks as part of a team

**Skills & Knowledge Required**:

- Experience in processing accounting transactions
- Basic knowledge of computerised accounting systems
- Good knowledge of Excel
- Excellent attention to detail
- The ability to accurately enter data
- GCSE’s Maths and English, grade C or higher is essential

**Benefits**:

**Job Types**: Part-time, Temporary contract
Contract length: 12 months
Part-time hours: 27.5 per week

**Salary**: £13.35 per hour
