We are looking for an experienced Production Planner to join our established Operations team. The Production Planner will be responsible for scheduling the flow of material throughout the manufacturing processes ensuring optimum efficiency within production while ensuring customer and stocking requirements are covered. You will be able to react to changing demands and priorities and be able to resolve timing conflicts and constraints.

**What you’ll be doing as our Production Planner**:

- Own, build and enhance the planning function within the business.
- Oversee all aspects of production planning and control, liaising with the sales and procurement team for effective long term forecasting with the firming of material requirements and balancing of the workflow as well as forecasting long term scheduling.
- Liaise daily with the Production Managers, Engineering and Supply Chain team on materials and machinery availability, treating these teams as your customer.
- Utilize available planning systems to convert sales forecasts into achievable production and material plans and schedules that optimally balance customer service and operational cost efficiency.
- Key member responsible for full integration of SAP as a planning tool as well as an integral part of the team who will future develop MRP/ERP systems integration.
- Actively on the shopfloor to engage with the wider operations team and to validate production status.
- Participate in the daily Operations meeting providing the overview, highlighting any risks relating to the plan.
- Manage risks within the plan and amend orders where possible/practical to achieve customer service and stock targets.
- Champion ongoing communication with the operations teams to ensure accurate exchange of information.
- When required participate in routine customer calls providing the overview of operational status and planned shipping dates.
- Propose and implement continuous improvements in own area
- Translate production plans into material requirements and convert them into direct and indirect material requirements.
- Lead production planning and capacity planning meetings providing reports and analysis on performance and KPIs.
- Working to ensure smooth flow of goods and production.
- Managing the Sales and Operations Plans for the outer years.
- Working in a busy supply chain function with the ability to adapt to change.
- Prepare accurate monthly reports for line management.

**The Skills, Knowledge and Experience you will need as our Production Planner**:

- Analytics, demand forecasting and production scheduling
- Effective communication and coordination
- Knowledge of ERP or CRM systems
- Ability to work under pressure
- Experience from a fast paced Manufacturing environment

**Need to have**:

- 5 years proven experience in a Production Planning role
- 5 years working experience within a manufacturing environment
- Proficient with SAP and Excel

**Nice to have**:

- Degree or equivalent
- Automotive production experience
- Experience in planning event based processes as well as cellular production processes
