Come and join the dynamic stroke nurse team - we provide 24/7 regional service for assessment and treatment (thrombolysis and thrombectomy) of acute stroke patients.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for someone with energy and positive attitude, to work with our multidisciplinary team and facilitate patient pathway. You must be able to demonstrate good communications and organisational skills, experience of working under pressure and to set deadlines.

Day to day tasks also include assisting the SAT and Thrombectomy teams to receive patients or arrival to CUH, monitoring vital signs, performing procedures such as venepuncture, catheterisation and ECG recording, facilitate patient transfer for investigations and procedures, supporting wards with clinical job requests and patient flow management.

Manual handling will be required during transfers from ED to CT, theatres or the Stroke Unit.

Our HCA team will most likely work LD across the 7 days week, but some short and twilight shifts, inclusive admin time, might be necessary
