Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist

Applications are invited for a dynamic and forward-thinking Consultant to join the Obstetric service at The Royal Oldham Hospital.

The duties outlined below are not definitive but cover the main duties of the post and may be changed in accordance with the needs of the service.
- Consultant Labour Ward Presence
- Supporting Antenatal and Postnatal care
- Providing Consultant Emergency Obstetric Input
- Participate in Maternal medicine MDT
- Provide high risk antenatal care

The post holder will have continuing responsibility for the care of patients in his/her charge, including all administrative duties associated with patient care & conducting appropriate duties in cases of emergencies and unforeseen circumstances.

Multidisciplinary teamwork is a key component of the working of this Trust and this post will involve Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) discussion with other colleagues in order to formulate appropriate and evidenced based care plans for the patient.

The department receives both undergraduate and post graduate trainees and the post holder will contribute to continuing medical and multi professional education activity including teaching as necessary.
