In this role you will use the influence of sport and physical activity to deliver positive change within the local community. You will impact our communities and help create a more inclusive, welcoming and supportive environment for all.

Working closely with the Youth Engagement Team, the role will deliver on Social Inclusion programmes, in particular Premier League Kicks as well as within Health and Wellbeing and Education and Employability. The Casual Coach will be responsible for delivering sports provisions and educational workshops within local communities across Tees Valley to participants aged 8-24-years old. There are opportunities of gaining further training and knowledge in coaching, youth work and safeguarding.

DUTIES
- Deliver sports and physical activity provision within local communities to children, young people and adults.
- Support the running of tournaments, events, and experience days.
- Help set up equipment prior to sessions start time, organise participants into games and manage these games.
- Support the collection of data and outcomes, including completed consent forms, registers of attendance, outcomes survey forms and incident report forms.
- Ensure high standards of behaviour are maintained by participants and staff.
- Develop a good level of understanding of social inclusion and the issues facing young people from disadvantaged communities.
- Demonstrate effective and consistent safeguarding and health and safety practice, at all times.

CANDIDATES MUST:

- Minimum of UKCC Level 1 Football or other sport equivalent
- Be flexible since hours worked will also include evenings, weekends and school holidays
- Have experience delivering in a community setting and an understanding and passion for improving the lives of people from high-need areas and under-represented groups or individuals in our communities
- Have excellent communication skills and experience of managing and improving challenging behaviour
- A valid driving licence, with access to own transport and willing to travel across the Tees Valley and be eligible to work in the UK
- An understanding of and commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion and how they relate to the role
- Hold a certificate in First Aid and Safeguarding, or required to complete
- Be eligible to work in the UK

This post falls within the scope of ‘regulated activity’ and is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (1974). Successful applicants will be required to undertake a Disclosure & Barring Service (formerly CRB) check and are required to declare any convictions, cautions, reprimands and final warnings that are not ‘protected’ as defined by the Rehabilitation of Offenders (Exemptions) Act 1975.
