An exciting opportunity for 2 part time Medical Practice Receptionists in London, NW2 has arisen.

Range of 15-30 hours per week Monday - Friday 8.00am-1.00pm or 1.30pm-6.30pm. Overtime available to cover holidays, Saturdays maybe available in the future.

Mapesbury Medical Group is based at The Windmill Medical Practice, Shoot Up Hill, NW2 3PS. We have 8300 patients spread across three London Boroughs, Brent, Camden and Barnet.

Our friendly, well established team of GPs and other Health Care Professionals offer a full range of services. We have a friendly supportive team of 7 receptionists and a team manager, looking for enthusiastic and well motivated individuals to join them.

Experience is preferred, but not necessary. **But a willingness to learn is essential.**

**Job Title**

Medical Receptionist

**Accountable to**

15-30 hours per week

**Job Summary**

To be responsible for undertaking a wide range of reception duties and the provision of general support to the multidisciplinary team. Duties can include but are not limited to, greeting and directing patients, effective use of the appointment system, booking appointments, processing of information and assisting patients as required. To act as the central point of contact for patients, the distribution of information, messages and enquiries for the clinical team, liaising with multidisciplinary team members and external agencies such as secondary care and community service providers.

**Primary Responsibilities**

The following are the core responsibilities of the receptionist. There may be on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:
a. Maintaining and monitoring the practice appointment system

b. Process personal, telephone and on-line requests for appointments

c. Answer incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers request appropriately

d. Signpost patients to the correct service

e. Initiating contact with and responding to, requests from patients, team members and external agencies

g. Photocopy documentation as required

h. Data entry of new and temporary registrations and relevant patient information as required

i. Input data into the patient’s healthcare records as necessary

j. Direct requests for information i.e. SAR, insurance / solicitors letters and DVLA forms to the administrative team

k. Manage all queries as necessary in an efficient manner

l. Carry out system searches as requested

m. Maintain a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times

n. Monitor and maintain the reception area and notice boards

o. Support all clinical staff with general tasks as requested

p. Participate in the management of repeat prescriptions, ensuring they are processed accurately and efficiently

q. Complete opening and closing procedures in accordance with the duty rota

**Secondary Responsibilities**

In addition to the primary responsibilities, the medical administrator may be requested to:
a. Partake in audit as directed by the audit lead

b. Support administrative staff, providing cover during staff absences

c. Scanning of patient related documentation and attaching scanned documents to patient’s healthcare records

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent

**Salary**: From £11.97 per hour

Expected hours: 15 - 30 per week
