Our client is part of a large Academy network whose vision is to create ‘Exceptional Education at the Heart of the Community’. They are currently looking for Facilities Assistants to attend to a number of schools in South Norwood and surrounding areas.

**Main Duties**:

- To assist the Facilities Manager in maintaining a safe, functioning environment, ensuring that all relevant Health & Safety Regulations and safe working procedures are adhered to.
- To assist the Facilities Manager to check and maintain the Fire Alarm, to ensure Fire Doors are operating correctly and to assist with the timely Fire Drill.
- To detect and report defects to the Facilities Manager; Repair defects and maintenance works as directed by the Facilities Manager.
- To undertake preparing areas for school related activities and functions, moving, and setting up furniture and equipment as required.
- To provide assistance in the delivery of the Property & Estates services.
- To act as point of contact in the assistance of property & estate matters in support of the Principal, Staff and other external Service Providers.
- To assist with the maintenance of access control, CCTV, and physical security systems on site.

**Must Haves**.
- Good Communication Skills, both verbal and written
- Good standard of literacy and numeracy
- Good organisational skills
- Proven ability to work under pressure & respond to deadlines
- Self-motivated with a 'Can-do' approach to problem solving
- Reliable, enthusiastic, and committed
- Willingness to undergo appropriate checks including enhanced DBS
- A full driving License

**Salary**: £27,060.00-£28,890.00 per year

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

- South Norwood: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- Maintenance: 1 year (preferred)
