**Job description**:
Title: Paediatric Complex Care Health Care Assistant (HCA)

Location: North London

Hours: 4x 8 hour night shifts a week

**Salary**: Competitive, based on experience

**Responsibilities**:
Provide personalised care and support to the individual.

Assist the individual with activities of daily living, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.

Engage the individual in leisure activities such as going to the gym, outings, engaging with animals, drawing, and building with Lego.

Foster independence and encourage skill development tailored to the individual's abilities and interests.

Monitor and manage the individual's epilepsy, recognizing and responding to seizures as needed (note: all seizures are self-correcting and have never required rescue medications).

Support the individual in managing emotional regulation, anxiety, and frustration, providing empathy and understanding.

Communicate effectively with the individual, their family, and healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care and support.

**Requirements**:
Previous experience in complex care, preferably working with individuals with epilepsy or similar neurological conditions.

Strong understanding of epilepsy management and seizure recognition.

Compassionate and patient demeanour, with the ability to provide emotional support and reassurance.

Proactive and engaging approach to care, fostering independence and promoting well-being.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with individuals with diverse needs and backgrounds.

Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle preferred.
