Global Head of Macro Credit

The London-based Global Head of Macro Credit will demonstrate broad leadership capabilities and be a clear authority offering strategic vision as it relates to global macro credit views specifically incorporating G10 rates and currencies. The Global Head of Macro Credit will possess active investment advisory experience across varied sector, currency and rate environments. The position requires a highly refined communication capability and client centric focus to add directional value across existing funds and prospects alike. Comfort and/or experience operating in a well-supported, but highly entrepreneurial environment is also an important element for success. Additional experience that is helpful, but not required, would include direct management of Global Agg portfolios or components thereof, European (EUR/Sterling and other European markets) and/or long-only total-rate-of-return or absolute-return macro credit-oriented fixed income investment portfolios.

Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Represent Nuveen as an esteemed Macro Credit expert providing directional guidance to internal portfolio managers as appropriate and strategic perspective to clients and potential clients across Europe. Refine and support Macro Credit views on a real time basis.
- Maintain a degree of familiarity with Nuveen strategies outside the Marco Credit space to assist in potential cross education for clients.
- Provide a senior level of presence and perspective to the London GFI Fixed Income team representing Nuveen GFI as a senior firm leader based out of London.
- Expand Nuveen’s presence and visibility amongst existing and future clients with an ability to utilize macro credit expertise to gain access to client decision makers and to advise clients directionally towards target outcomes.
- Share active views with clients while gaining perspective of their specific interests/ needs and concerns and matching such to both the London based and US based capability set and help to drive expansion into new areas.
- Maintain a physical public presence representing Nuveen and Nuveen capabilities across the Continent including media appearances, attending conferences and direct client engagement in the field with sales, client portfolio managers and others likely present.
- Interact effectively with UK-based traders, research and portfolio managers as well as US based team-mates leveraging distributed skill sets to optimize fund performance across global strategies via active dialogue.
- Coordinate efforts with client portfolio management, sales, product and portfolio managers to enhance European client experience and knowledge of Nuveen capabilities and to grow European AUM.
- Engage directly with clients/ potential clients in a variety of formats regarding Nuveen’s unique capabilities set and our ability to offer solutions that drive AUM accumulation and client satisfaction.
- Provide a degree of accountability and operational leverage to Nuveen’s CIO as it relates to the London based Fixed Income operations. Develop and offer business oversight and strategic growth perspectives to the CIO for discussion and joint evaluation.
- Understand and Integrate ESG risks in client interaction/ advisory; stay abreast on the developments and key themes/topics in the ESG space and changes in regulations. Coordinate with ESG/ RI experts resident throughout the firm, as appropriate.

Base Pay Range: $141,800/yr. - $178,000/yr.

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
