Job Description - Sessional Lead Youth Worker

Main Purpose - To lead the team and youth work activities in Kingswood, Hull of New Life
Support.

Main Duties
- To lead the paid sessional youth work staff and volunteer staff to deliver relevant youth work in
Kingswood, Hull.

To lead and facilitate activities that engages the young people who attend the sessions of New
Life Support.

To support the staff team through informal supervision as required.

To work with the Coordinator of New Life Support to provide youth work activities of New Life
Support in Kingswood. Hull.

To work with young people and other workers to facilitate a range of activities that enable young people to identify choices to improve their life through ongoing practical and professional support.

To work within the values of New Life Support to maximise the involvement of young people in the decisions made about their lives and the choices available to them.

To network with other relevant agencies as required.

To work within the monitoring and evaluation methods of New Life Support.

To be properly accountable for the premises, resources and equipment used by New Life Support.

To be committed to personal development through appropriate training.

To be flexible regarding the working arrangements in order to meet the demands of the young people, the work and available financial resources.

To undertake other appropriate duties that are commensurate with the post.

Responsible to - Coordinator, New Life Support.

The post is funded at a minimum rate of £15.00 per hour for 9 hours per week. This post has funding for one year. The work is based in the Kingswood area of Hull.

The post is dependent on available financial resources allocated to the post of Sessional Youth
Worker. 1 Calendar month notice will be given if the post is to end.

The employment contract is with New Life Support.

- Experience _Previous experience of leading a staff team.

**Background Information**

The objectives of the charity are:
1) To act as a resource for young people, families and adults living in Hull and East Riding and the surrounding areas by providing advice and assistance and organising programmes of physical, educational, and other activities as a means of: a) advancing in life and helping young people, families, and adults by developing their skills, capacities, and capabilities to enable them to participate in society as independent, mature, and responsible individuals. b) advancing education. c) relieving unemployment. d) providing recreational and leisure time activity in the interests of social welfare designed to improve their conditions of life.

2) To advance the Christian faith, in particular but not exclusively amongst young people for the benefit of the public.

The aim of the Youth Work is to work with and build positive relationships with young people aged 11-18 years old.
