Health Care Assistant

We are looking for two Health Care Assistants who have general knowledge and experience with at least 12-18 months of inpatient care. Also, willingness to learn about managing patients within the community is essential.
To work with registered nurses to provide a high standard of care to patients in community settings. To demonstrate elements of leadership and team working skills. To provide administrative and organisational support within the team.
Participate in the assessment of care needs and the implementation and
evaluation of care.
Identify changes in patients’ conditions; recognise, within capabilities, changes in care programmes and report these back to the nurse in charge.
Demonstrate a high standard of written and verbal communication skills when liaising with Health and social care professionals, patients, and carers.
Demonstrate an understanding of patients’ and carers’ needs in complex situations e.g., care of the dying.
Be willing to undertake a range of nursing skills over and above that of band HCA 2 and 3 nursing auxiliaries, in which competency has been assessed.
**These will include specific skills such as**:
Simple sterile dressings
Blood pressure monitoring
Blood glucose monitoring
Venepuncture with the relevant training
Pressure Area Care
Administration of Insulin or willing to attend the training.
Instillation of eye and ear drops
Bowel/ Stoma care
You will work as part of an integrated community team and with acute, primary, and social care partners to prevent unplanned hospital admission wherever this is feasible. You will be expected to communicate effectively, record and report changes or concerns to other MDT members. Enfield is a large borough on the northern border of London with easy access to many green spaces including pleasant parks and footpaths through the green belt.
