We are looking to recruit an outstanding individual to join The Den - supporting children and young people affected by domestic abuse. We operate in Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre area, supporting hundreds of young people every year.

Working in schools and in the community, our Children's IDVA's enable young people who are victims of domestic abuse to have a voice and be listened to. We empower young people to be informed and supported.

We have a structured programme of work (focusing on keeping safe, healthy and unhealthy relationships, managing emotions and building resilience) but also expect our staff to work flexibly and with judgement to make sure that each unique young individual gets the support they need to move beyond domestic abuse and have the best chances in life.

A Children's IDVA will:

- Support young people either on a 1-1 or group basis to develop their confidence and emotional well-being, understand safety and dynamics of domestic abuse.
- Help young people develop their own support network.
- Listen to young people to assist them to identify the issues which are concerning them.
- Build strong, professional working relationships to ensure the needs of the child continue to be met both during and after our intervention.

We are looking for someone to have:

- Experience of working with children and young people in 1-2-1 and group settings.
- A proven ability to develop positive and empowering relationships and to motivate and engage with young people.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Good understanding of risks to children affected by domestic abuse.
- Knowledge of safeguarding children procedures and how to refer when necessary.

Location: Empowerment Base

Reports To: Domestic Abuse Manager

Hours of Work: 37 hours per week (to be worked flexibly)

**Salary**: £23,150.40 per annum

Holiday Entitlement: 29 days per year (plus bank holidays)

Pension: Auto Enrolment into to the workplace pension scheme (Smart Pension)

During the event you will be observed as to how well you fit with the team and the children we support. If you are successful, you will be invited back to attend an interview the following week on 5th September 2023.

**Salary**: £23,150.40 per year
